There are two ways for you to change your mail forwarding/vacation configuration. There is a third way that only us crafty system managers can use.

If you are only interested in using the vacation utility, please go to https://vacation.ucolick.org/ and follow the on-screen instructions; it is strongly reccommended that you find an alternative to using the vacation utility (please read the warnings on the vacation webpage).

You can also change your mail forwarding configuration via the vacation webapge. If you would rather make changes manually (typically via a UNIX workstation), all of the configuration files for your local mail configuration reside in:
/home/public/username
For example, the mail forwarding file for lanclos@ucolick.org would be:
/home/public/lanclos/.forward
And its contents, to forward lanclos@ucolick.org to lanclos@ucsc.edu would be (one line only):
lanclos@ucsc.edu
If you want to configure the vacation utility at the UNIX prompt, you're on your own. It is strongly reccommended that you do not use the vacation utility (please read the reasons why at the vacation webapge).

If you have an expired ucolick.org UNIX account, we're willing to set up system-level mail forwarding for you. Please send an e-mail to nics@ucolick.org and let us know where you want your old @ucolick.org e-mail to end up.
