Welcome to the NICS Service Desk for the University of California Observatories. We are responsible for providing support to the members of UC Observatories and maintaining the computing and networking infrastructure at both our facilities at Lick Observatory on Mt. Hamilton as well as at our central offices at The University of California, Santa Cruz campus.

Requesting Assistance


  • For issues with phones, inactive network jacks, or UCSC related services (CruzID Blue/Gold), please contact the UCSC Service desk at help@ucsc.edu.

  • For issues with NICS supported computer and printers, or NICS supplied services that you can't find the answer to, please contact us at nics@ucolick.org.

  • For emergencies, call the NICS Helpdesk line at (831) 459-4020. If you are on-campus, you can simply dial 9-4020.
